Buster + Punch started in a small garage in East London, fabricating everything from light fittings to motorcycles to furniture to leather jackets. These luxurious pieces, which share a dark, almost sinister aesthetic, are designed by architect Massimo Buster Minale. Minale officially launched Buster + Punch in 2013, which he runs in addition to his successful architecture and interior design firm Minale + Mann (formerly Minale + Minale), which he founded in 2001 along with his brother. Minale + Mann now employs more than 30 people across their offices in London and Stockholm.
Buster + Punch is named after the middle names of the Minale brothers, although Massimo is currently the only brother involved in the company. The studio presented an elegant display of products at the London Design Festival, including their popular Hooked 1.0 light fixture made of brass, rubber, and bronzed gun metal. Although busy at his booth, Minale got a chance to see some of the other great work on display during the festival. “I was most impressed by the young students from South Africa and Australia, showing at 100% Design, who seem to design without fear.”
Buster + Punch products are available for architects, designers, and consumers worldwide.
