According to the Ohio-based door manufacturer Therma-Tru, the new DoorWays app for iPhone and iPad is the first U.S. configurable entry door visualization tool available from the App Store. The app allows professionals and homeowners to easily select and configure a new door, virtually “try” the door on the home before committing to the purchase, and then find a dealer in the area. A pioneer in the fiberglass entry door industry, Therma-Tru offers a complete range of entry and patio door system solutions, including decorative glass doorlites, sidelites and transoms, and door components.
In addition to allowing users to create and save multiple door and glass combinations, they can share different door looks via e-mail, text, and Facebook, and access all product information needed for ordering through the saved doors feature. The app’s built-in visualizer allows users to size and scale doors in camera view, create a photograph of the selected door that is then super-imposed over the inside or outside of the home, and save photos of the doors on the home to a camera roll to find and share later. All door and window companies need to have apps like this. They don’t need to be overly complicated, just provide an easy way to browse the product line, visualize the selection, and then save or share it if desired.
