Kohler’s new collection of freestanding baths, launched at this month’s KBIS expo in Orlando, are meant to leave no doubt about which fixture is the centerpiece of the bathroom. The simple, clean curves of Ceric convey a minimal craft shape with ceramic detailing, while Chess is an homage to Shaker design with gentle curving lines. With detailing reminiscent of crown molding, Memoirs adds classic architectural style, while the contemporary Veil design features flowing and balanced curves. Finally, the Imperator echoes Kohler’s longstanding bathing heritage with a nod toward classic Roman architectural designs by way of a defined base with soft curves in the body of the bath.
Kohler manufactures these hand-crafted baths from a new premium, high-gloss, solid-cast resin material that allows for new geometries, textures, and designs, including the visually striking thin walls. Each bath is carefully shaped from one, solid piece, ensuring structural integrity. Most important for installers, the lightweight material allows for easier transport and on-site installation. Ceric, Chess, and Memoirs will be available to the market spring of 2017, with Veil and Imperator following in fall of 2017.
