As March turns into April, it’s time again for the Queen of design fairs, Milan’s Salone del Mobile. In Pavilion 20, Gebrüder Thonet Vienna will present new pieces from Swedish designers Charlie Styrbjörn Nilsson and Front. Using Thonet’s famous steam bent wood technique, Nilsson has created an interior ladder with a light structure and rounded rungs that can be used to hang objects or clothing or simply served as a decorative element. Also new is the Coat Rack Bench, a piece by Front made in curved wood with a woven straw seat. A selection of historical products by the company will also be on display at the booth, including the famous N.1 designed by Michael Thonet in 1849.
