The acoustical panels and room dividers from the Swedish company Wobedo Designs are designed to not only create more balanced acoustic environments, but better looking ones as well. Wobedo’s product lines, including wall-mounted and freestanding options, offer Class A sound-absorption coefficients in 500 Hz to 4000 Hz frequency ranges. The panels are covered in an exclusive wool fabric available in 48 colors. Used mainly for public spaces like offices, libraries, and schools, they can also be used in private homes. To mount on the wall, the panel has a textile on the back that creates a strong grip with extra strong Velcro. The Velcro piece consists of a plastic part with a hole in the middle so that it can be screwed onto the wall. Vacuuming with a soft brush is recommended for maintenance.
New freestanding sound-absorbing screens combine the Woolbubbles product along with transparent Plexiglas or painted MDF. The screens are suited for offices, libraries, cafes, and restaurants, and come in the same colors as the rest of the line. Wobedo Design manufactures all products at the Swedish company Artex AB, which is both ISO9001 and ISO14001 certified. Citing an increase of interest in the U.S. market, the company has started to sell here through Twin City Acoustics in Minnesota. According to Scott Gallop with Twin City Acoustics, the panels are comparable in price to custom manufactured acoustical wall panels.
